Gracious Street in the Wider Community
Being a living church is not just about a range of events in our own buildings. We organise a variety of activities throughout the year and enjoy the opportunity to interact with and support the wider community beyond our premises.
We are regularly involved in leading school assemblies, have a number of hospital chaplaincy connections and work closely with the homeless project and others who are in need.
A focus on supporting the more elderly is important to us at Gracious Street. We organise specific activities including 'Holiday at Home' in the summer and other means of engaging with those who find it difficult to leave their place of residence.
At special times of the year, such as Christmas, Easter and Harvest, we visit a number of care homes and other assisted living locations. On these occasions we spend time with the residents and run special worship services for those who want to participate. We also provide communion services in the home for those who are unable to attend worship in the church.
We seek to be a witnessing church, sharing with others in word and deed the Good News of God's love in Jesus Christ.
